William Pierce Rogers (June 23, 1913 – January 2, 2001) was an American
politician, diplomat, and lawyer. He served as United States Attorney General
under President Dwight D. Eisenhower and United States Secretary of State under
President Richard Nixon, of whom he was a close confidant, but in this role he
was overshadowed by National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger, who eventually succeeded him.
