    Approximately 5" x 8" letter handwritten, signed and dated "2 January 1869" by Charles Francis Adams (died 1886), son of President John Quincy Adams, and grandson of President John Adams. He was a U.S. Congressman from Massachusetts (1859-1861) and Ambassador to England (1861-1868, including the Civil War). Two horizontal folds.
