    Here is a wonderful piece of U.S. History.  This is a signed letter from Margaret Chase Smith from 1954.  During this time, Margaret Chase Smith was Senator of Maine.  She had a prolific political career and was the first woman to serve in both houses of the U.S. Congress, and the first woman to represent Maine in either.
    Margaret Chase Smith was also a candidate for Republican nomination for the 1964 Presidential election.
    This letter comes typed on a personal Margaret Chase Smith United States Senate letterhead and personal U.S. Senate envelope.
