    Typed letter dated November 7, 1967 on "United States Senate, Committee On Armed Services" letterhead, signed by Mississippi Senator John C. Stennis, who is to date the last Democrat Senator from Mississippi. The USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) is the seventh Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier in the Navy and is named after him. Content regards the Warren Commission and a request to reinvestigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Reads in part, "I realize there is still much controversy...I...remain alert to any possibility of opening a Congressional inquiry into the assassination." Three holes punched on both the left and right sides, two horizontal folds, light foxing.
