Description
Emery board, or nail file, probably from the 1970s, a campaign handout from former U.S. Rep. Paul Findley, a Republican from Illinois, who served from 1961 to 1983, when he lost his seat to now U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin.Findley, who died Aug. 9, 2019 at age 98, was popular in central Illinois for two decades and was most noted for his steadfast conclusion that Israel's lobby is too influential on Congress, a view many consider "anti-Israel" when U.S. support for Israel is nearly universally accepted. He founded The Council for the National Interest, a non-partisan organization that works for "Middle East policies that serve the American national interest."
