Description
This William Strong (1808-1895) autograph letter signedis on a 8 3/8" x 5" lined sheet of paper dated "Phila. Dec. 5th 1862." Strong writes to the Hon. W.H. Miller: "I return the enclosed warrant. I cannot draw the money, because it is not
stamped
. Please get the Auditor to affix an adhesion stamp & return it to me. Yours very truly W. Strong." William Strong served in the U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania and was an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1870-1880).
Condition
: Slight smudging to a few letters of text and signature, otherwise, very good.
